Applications for the program will be accepted from June 17 to July 27, 2020. In total, there are 8 places in the master's program, for which Napoleon IT has allocated grants. In addition to full tuition, the grant includes accommodation on the MIPT campus and a scholarship of up to 50,000 rubles.

The key feature of the program is the work on a real bioinformatics project under the guidance of world-renowned bioinformatics scientists, as well as subsequent employment in the Napoleon IT company. Students will do their theses on the basis of the company's projects. Developers and data scientists who are ready to study data analysis in biology and medicine can apply for participation.

Bioinformatics combines molecular biology and genetics, computer science, mathematics and statistics. Using the main technological trends of today, big data and artificial intelligence, bioinformatics is a key discipline of life sciences.

The Master's program will include six blocks of disciplines:

modern genetic technologies;
machine learning
BigData in Biology and Medicine;
cell biology;
fundamentals of biochemistry and molecular biology;
molecular phylogenetics.

Among the teachers: Ilya Kublanov, Head of the Laboratory of Metabolism of Extremophilic Prokaryotes of the Federal Research Center "Fundamentals of Biotechnology", Georgy Nosov, researcher at the Institute of Medical Physics and Biophysics (IMPB, Munster, Germany), Maxim Lovat, senior Lecturer at the Department of Human and Animal Physiology of Lomonosov Moscow State University, head of the Testing Center "Vivarnoexperimental Complex LLC"MSU Mitoengineering Research Institute"".

The selection consists of three stages:

The Napoleon IT test. The candidate needs to solve several tasks in programming, molecular Biology and Data Science.
Essay and interview in Napoleon IT. In the essay, the candidate needs to explain his motivation, and at a business breakfast with company representatives, he needs to tell a little more about himself.
The entrance exam in biotechnology at MIPT.
