Objectives: to support the campaign to popularize high-tech industries; to identify the creative potential of specialists in domestic industrial and object design.

Tasks of participants in the nominations:Graphic design

To present an innovative view of the scientific achievements of the domestic nanoindustry.

The entirety of their spectrum can be found in the dictionary of nanotechnology and nanotechnology-related terms. And be inspired by such examples as:

– fullerene
– nanotubes
– metamaterials
– dendrimers
– liposomes
– nanoelectromechanical systems
– the lotus effect
– fractals

Object designTo develop a concept of an object that will demonstrate all the best properties of one of the nanomaterials, nanoproducts and nanoprocesses as much as possible:

– polysilicon
– composite materials
– flexible film
– RFID tags (Radio Frequency IDentification, radio frequency identification)
– asphalt modifier "Unirem"
– leds
– high-tech printing on any media (SAN)
– monolithic carbide metal cutting tool with nanostructured coating
– tools made of nanocubic boron nitride
– Fresnel lens

The order of participation in the competition:For the nomination "Graphic Design", works are provided in the form of several images in jpg format, with a size of 1000 pixels on the large side.

Interactive projects are accepted in flash file format (swf, flv). A description of the competition work is attached to the graphic part of the project.

For the nomination "Object Design", competitive projects are provided that take into account the features of the materials used. The works are accepted in the form of several projections of the 3D model of the product concept. The images are in jpg format, 1000 pixels in size on the large side. A technical description is attached to the graphic part of the project: the material, the dimensions of the object and its functionality. It is advisable to describe in detail how the unique properties of the material will be expressed in the unique consumer qualities of the product.

The Competition is open to applications received by the organizers in the period from October 15, 2010 to November 30, 2010. In the cover letter, the participant indicates the following information: Full name, age, postal address, contact coordinates. Materials are provided by e-mail info@kak.ru . The subject of the letter is "NANO"

When summing up the results of the competition, it will be taken into account:

• compliance of the work with the declared objectives of the Competition;
• originality and quality of performance of the presented work;
• the possibility of implementing the concept.

• Sergey Kuzhavsky, Stas Zitsky, Russia – co-founders and owners of Open Studio!Design. They work in different genres. In 2009, their Joywelry jewelry collection received the prestigious Red Dot Awards.
• Evgeny Maslov, Germany – industrial designer and author of MaslovDesign and DesignQuality projects.
• Sergey Smirnov, Russia – founder of SmirnovDesign, one of the most experienced Russian companies working in the field of industrial design and the first to provide a full range of services for bringing a product to market – from branding and research to prototyping and production.
• Martino d'Esposito, Switzerland – founder of Studio d'Esposito & Gaillard. The author of his own projects of rare audacity, as well as items from the DroogDesign collection.
• Rafael Morgan, Brazil – conceptual designer, owner of his own brand. The concepts are funny and even cheeky. Nevertheless, they are suitable in everyday life. As a rule, they quickly find their manufacturer.
