Grants 2012 (scholarships) for postgraduate studies (France)
The Nanotechnology Foundation (Nanosciences Foundation, France) announces the acceptance of applications for a three-year postgraduate program (Ph.D. Program). The Foundation supports all areas of interdisciplinary research related to nano-sciences and nanotechnology.
Participants of the program have the opportunity to perform dissertation research in one of the laboratories included in the network of 33 laboratories of the Foundation, in the following scientific areas:
- Quantum nanoelectronics
- Nanomagnetism and Spintronics
- Nanophotonics
- Molecular electronics
- Nanomaterials, nanobonding and Nanostructuration
- Nanocharacterization and Nanometrology
- Nano-approaches to life sciences
Nanomodeling, theory and simulation.
Talented highly motivated young specialists from any country who have received fundamental education in various fields (biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, engineering) and are interested in nano-research are invited to participate in the Competition. To participate in the program, you must have a master's degree or its equivalent and knowledge of English.
To participate in the program, you must first contact a potential supervisor in one of the selected laboratories of the network and propose a scientific project that corresponds to the direction of research conducted in the laboratory. The closer the project is to the subject of the laboratory, the more chances a young specialist has to become a participant in the program.
The funding of the program participant is approximately 1,500 euros per month for 36 months, including medical insurance.
Applications for participation in the program are accepted twice a year – on March 31 and September 30, 2012.
After reviewing the applications, the selected candidates will be invited to Grenoble to submit projects to the selection committee. All transportation costs for this trip will be reimbursed by the Fund. The final list of participants of the program will be formed based on the results of face-to-face consideration of projects.
