Grants for postgraduate studies in Dresden (Germany)

The Max Planck International Research Institute for Molecular Cell Biology and Bioengineering (IMPRS-MCBB) announces the fall 2012 enrollment of graduate students.

IMPRS-MCBB was established in 2001 as part of the joint program of the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG) and the Technical University of Dresden (Technische Universität Dresden, TUD) and was the first research school within the Max Planck scientific community (Max Planck Society ).

IMPRS-MCBB provides interdisciplinary training and research opportunities for postgraduate level specialists.

About 150 specialists from 30 countries of the world study at the IMPRS-MCBB postgraduate school. Every year, according to the results of a serious competitive selection, about 40 candidates are accepted for training.

Prospective graduate specialists, university graduates planning to pursue a scientific career in the field of molecular cell biology, bioengineering, developmental biology, genetics, biophysics, neurobiology and bioinformatics are accepted for postgraduate study.

Successful candidates are enrolled in the postgraduate program of the Dresden Technical University and take part in the work of one of the research groups.

Teaching is conducted in English. The duration of the program is from 3 to 4 years.

The deadline for registration for participation in the program is July 1, 2012. Documents are accepted until July 10, 2012. Interviews with selected candidates will take place in Dresden from September 10 to September 14, 2012.
