for postgraduate studies at the University of Milan (Italy)

The University of Milan announces a competitive recruitment for postgraduate studies (PhD course) for graduate young scientists specializing in biology and biomolecular technologies living in countries outside the European Union.

The main features of the postgraduate study program are internationality, interdisciplinarity and involvement of the business community.

The postgraduate program provides fellows with the opportunity to:

  • Teaching and conducting research in molecular biology and biotechnology
  • The development of a molecular approach in the study of complex biological problems of eukaryotes and prokaryotes, animal and plant organisms
  • Development of cooperation between research, educational institutions and companies from different countries in the field of biomolecular research and biotechnology

Internationalization of training was implemented within the framework of the program by attracting foreign lecturers, teachers, graduate students and organizing multilateral scientific co-management of dissertation research.

The postgraduate study program is based on a system of educational credits. All graduate students must obtain at least 45 credits by taking part in a variety of educational activities offered by the University's Postgraduate Department.

Young scientists with a master's degree (or its equivalent) in biology or biotechnology, with a good knowledge of English, are invited to participate in the program.

Scholarship holders whose annual income does not exceed 15,000.00 euros are awarded a scholarship of 13,638.47 euros per year.

The application form is available on the website of the University of Milan. To participate in the program, you must submit a letter of recommendation from a supervisor from the university where the master's degree was obtained, or another university (research institute).
