Scholarships of the European Molecular Biology Organization

The Foundation for New Technologies of the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) offers long-term and short-term scholarship programs for biologists.

Within the framework of the Long-Term Fellowships program, research projects lasting up to two years carried out abroad are supported. At the same time, either the sending or receiving organization must be localized in a State that is a member of the European Molecular Biology Conference (EMBC).

The target group consists of researchers who have completed their postgraduate studies no more than three years ago and have at least one publication in an international peer-reviewed specialized publication. The scholarship provides for reimbursement of travel expenses and maintenance of the scholarship holder and his family.

The deadline for submitting applications is August 15, 2009, February 15, 2010.

Within the framework of the Short-Term Fellowships program, short-term (up to three months) research projects carried out abroad are supported. The host organization must be located in a State that is a member of the European Conference of Molecular Biology (EMBC). The scholarship provides for reimbursement of travel expenses and maintenance of the scholarship holder during his stay abroad.

The target group consists of scientists with at least ten years of research experience since the defense of their PhD thesis, as well as doctoral students.

The deadline for submitting applications is year–round (at least three months before the expected start of the scholarship).
