Scholarships of the Weizmann Institute
Scientific Research Institute named after The Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel announces recruitment for master's, postgraduate and postdoctoral programs at Feinberg Graduate School.
Upon graduation, academic degrees of Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy are awarded. The training is conducted in the main areas of physics, mathematics, biology, chemistry.
- Biology: biological ultrastructures, biochemistry of lipids and sugars, virology, plant genetics and hybridization, somatic cell genetics, hormones, immunology, cell differentiation and gene expression, cell wall, membranes, molecular biology, molecular genetics, neurobiology and brain studies, nucleic acids and proteins (structure, functioning and biosynthesis), oncogenes, cancer, receptors and signal transmission, photosynthesis.
- Chemistry: Bioorganic chemistry, crystallography, magnetic resonance, membranes, molecular dynamics, earth sciences, organic chemistry, polymers, chemical physics, laser chemistry, brain chemistry and behavior, surface chemistry, solid state chemistry, electrochemistry.
- Physics: hydrodynamics, holography, gravitational field studies, relativistic electron beam physics and its application, theoretical astrophysics, theoretical high-energy physics, theoretical nuclear physics, phase transitions and critical phenomena, laser physics and its application, elementary particle physics, experimental high-energy physics, experimental nuclear physics.
- Mathematics: geophysics, computer science and computer engineering, systems theory, theoretical and applied mathematics.
- Teaching of scientific disciplines: research and development of methods of teaching scientific disciplines, curricula, literature and educational equipment for secondary schools.
The official language of instruction is English, which allows a large number of foreigners (approximately 25% of the total) to participate in all programs. Students from North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia study at the Graduate School. South and Central America.
Many undergraduates and almost all doctoral students receive a scholarship covering tuition and living expenses.
Undergraduates in the first year are paid 4,550 shekels per month, and in the second – 5,475. for good reasons, the payment can be extended up to 3 months, but not necessarily in full.
Doctoral students are paid 6,400 shekels per month in the first year, and 7380 in the second. Further, 7597 shekels per month are paid to single people, 7850 to married people, and 8018 to those with children. These amounts will change upwards. Scholarships are usually awarded for 54 months.
Applications for master's scholarships are accepted until May 31, for doctoral scholarships – all year round.
