The Russian Youth Award in the field of nanoindustry 2015 sets the start with acceleration
The reception of applications for the VII Russian Youth Award in the field of nanoindustry has started, the holding of which this year is accompanied by additional opportunities. Young innovators and entrepreneurs representing scientific and technological developments and inventions in the field of nanotechnology will be able to join the fight for the main Award nomination and new special investment nominations established by the RUSNANO nanocenter network, and five finalists of the Award will have the opportunity to present their development during face-to-face pitch sessions to the general directors of RUSNANO nanotechnology centers.
As before, the main cash prize in the amount of 300 thousand rubles, an honorary diploma and an award symbol of the Award will be awarded to the laureate selected by the governing bodies of the RUSNANO Group from among the finalists of the Award. Young innovators and entrepreneurs with scientific and technological developments and inventions in the field of nanotechnology, introduced into production with an annual turnover of at least 1.5 million rubles, will be able to participate in the competition for the 2015 Prize.
However, for the first time this year, in addition to the main Award nomination, the RUSNANO nanocenter network establishes 3 special investment nominations: each winner in these nominations is given the opportunity to conclude an investment agreement for 1 million rubles and create a startup with one of the RUSNANO Group nanocenters. The winners are selected among the 5 finalists of the Award by presenting their development during face-to-face pitch sessions to the General directors of RUSNANO nanotechnology centers on the first day of the IV Moscow International Forum of Innovative Development "Open Innovations", which will be held in Moscow from October 28 to November 01, 2015. The winner of the Award, as well as the winners of special nominations will be announced at the award ceremony on the same day, October 28, 2015.
"The cooperation of the Award organizers with RUSNANO nanocenters will give the contest participants new opportunities. Today, a network of 12 of our nanocenters acts as Venture Builders. Unique competencies have been accumulated here. First of all, it is knowledge of the laws of the market and experience in the development of projects from ideas, experimental technology to implementation, to business – to date, more than 350 startups have been created in nanocentres," said Anatoly Chubais, Chairman of the Board of RUSNANO.
Developments in the following technological fields can be nominated for the Award: non-silicon electronics (including "green", wearable, integrated), flexible photovoltaics integrated into surfaces, personal and regenerative medicine, industrial biotech and clintech, genomics, additive technologies, robotics (logistics), flexible contract manufacturing (engineering), composites, new materials in construction.
