Youth Award in the field of nanoindustry

Applications for the Russian Youth Award in the field of Nanoindustry in 2011 have been accepted

The Russian Youth Award in the field of Nanoindustry (hereinafter referred to as the Award) was established by the State Corporation "Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies" and has been awarded since 2009.

The prize is awarded for the development and implementation of a new nanotechnology product or the development of its production. In 2011, the Prize fund will amount to 300,000 rubles.

Citizens of the Russian Federation under the age of 35 who are not members of the management and award bodies have the right to be nominated for the Award.

It is allowed to nominate third parties for the Award, as well as self-nomination.

The applicant must submit to the Award Directorate by e-mail to the address by July 01, 2011 youthprize@rusnanoforum.com application materials.

Award Procedure:

Stage 1. In the period from July 11 to July 22, 2011, out of the total number of applications received, the Preliminary Selection Commission selects 5 (five) that most correspond to the goals and objectives of the Award. The authors of the applications selected by the Commission will be notified of the results of the selection no later than July 29, 2011. They will be invited to the award ceremony of the Prize winner within the framework of the Fourth International Forum on Nanotechnology with payment for travel and accommodation. Presentation materials on the 5 best developments will be posted on the territory of the Forum in the sector of the Russian Youth Award.

Stage 2. Five applications selected at the pre-selection stage are submitted for consideration by the members of the RUSNANO Scientific and Technical Council, from which 2 (two) applications are selected for consideration by the RUSNANO Management Board in the period from July 25 to August 12, 2011.

Stage 3. The winner of the competitive selection is determined at a meeting of the RUSNANO Management Board by August 31, 2011.

The winner of the Award will be announced at the Fourth International Forum on Nanotechnology on October 26-28, 2011.

In 2010, Marina Galkina, a senior researcher at the Research Laboratory for the Development and Implementation of ion-plasma Technologies at Belgorod State University, became the winner of the Award for the development and implementation of a method for forming a nanoscale doped carbon coating on cantilevers used in scanning probe microscopy.

The award ceremony took place on November 3, 2010 within the framework of the plenary session of the Third International Forum on Nanotechnology.
