Anti-wrinkle cosmetics: not everything is so smooth

Anna YASYREVA, MINE! online

It was only in a fairy tale that the heroes had enough to drink live water and eat a rejuvenating apple – and they immediately dropped several decades. In reality, we are offered much less pleasant ways of rejuvenation in the form of painful injections or a surgeon with a scalpel. There are, however, less radical methods – creams, which, according to manufacturers, smooth out wrinkles and tighten the contour of the face. But how many are there who, with the help of such means (quite expensive, it should be noted), really got rid of wrinkles?

The specialists of the magazine "Demand" decided to look for an answer to this question by experimentally testing 12 popular eye creams on three hundred women – "Diademine Falten Expert 3D", "Vichy Myokine", "Sebamed", "Lancome renergle yeux", "Nivea Visage", "Schlecker/Rilanja", "Lancaster Wrinkle Lab Precles", "Yves Rocher Rich Creme", "DM/Balea Face", "Apotheker Scheller", "Garnier Jade", "Rossmann/Alterra". It's no secret that it is on the sensitive skin around the eyes that wrinkles form first of all.

The result is on the face

In principle, all these wonders of the cosmetic industry did not cause any special complaints. Almost all the samples demonstrated a good moisturizing effect, which helps to tone the skin. Pumped up in this sense, one "Lancome", he coped with the task for a C. Creams also do not cause allergic or other side effects. All participants of the experiment praised them for their pleasant smell and consistency.

Another point of the study is that several types of bacteria and fungi were added to the creams (after all, you do not always apply the cream on your face in sterile conditions and with perfectly clean hands). And then a curious paradox was revealed. Two brands of creams, whose manufacturers refused preservatives (these are Rossmann/Alterra and Apotheker Scheller), did not pass these tests. Harmful microbes that got into them felt at ease and multiplied at high speed, but in creams with preservatives they quickly died. So much for the flip side of the coin!

Basically, in all tests, the eye creams showed themselves decently. In all but one, but the most important thing is smoothing wrinkles around the eyes. For four weeks, the participants of the experiment smeared their eyes with these products in the morning and evening. The organizers of the experiment took three-dimensional photographs of the corresponding skin areas each time. It turned out that none of the creams helped to completely remove wrinkles. At best, they decrease by fractions of a millimeter. Five creams for smoothing wrinkles reached the fourth – these are "Diademine", "Vichy", "Sebamed", "Lancome" and "Schlecker/Rilanja". The most interesting thing is that they are very different in price: a jar of "Diademine" costs about 500 rubles, and for "Lancome" you will already give 1700.

Two creams did not cope with the task – these are "DM / Balea Face" and "Garnier Jade". The rest were given "satisfactory".

"It's not worth waiting for miracles"

Many experts are skeptical about anti–aging cosmetics - effective products often contain hormones, to which the skin gets used in a month, after which it will take a lifetime to spend on this cream. Otherwise, you will experience the "Dorian Gray effect" – the skin without makeup will look worse than it was. On the other hand, softer cosmetics do not have such a clear effect. What should be done? Here's what Elena Efanova, a cosmetologist and aesthetician at the Lik beauty salon, thinks about this:

– You should not expect miracles from rejuvenating cosmetics. If you didn't take care of your skin until you were 40, smoked, washed from the tap, ate incorrectly and want to remove wrinkles with a cream, you won't succeed. Here it remains only to go to plastic surgeons. It is necessary to take care of the face from an early youth: to cleanse, moisturize, and from the age of 35 to begin rejuvenating procedures. Here, too, everything is individual, and often some expensive lifting cream that you buy, in fact, will not be necessary for you. Therefore, before you go to the store, consult with a cosmetologist, which products will suit you.

Indeed, many creams contain hormones that create a rejuvenating effect. Yes, they are addictive. But in modern expensive products, hormonal supplements are minimal and do not harm the body. I do not recommend using one tool for more than six months. And of course, cosmetics alone is not enough. I highly recommend massages – they sometimes give excellent results even without expensive lifting masks, and besides, they do not cause an addictive effect. And of course, proper nutrition, a healthy lifestyle, more rest. But radical procedures like mesotherapy or botox injections, in my opinion, should be started no earlier than 45-50 years.

IN THE SUBJECTAccording to scientists, creams around the eyes are not able to cope with another female problem – to remove bags under the eyes.

In most cases, this is a genetic feature that can only be eliminated with the help of a surgeon. If you are not ready to become more beautiful by resorting to this method, try to avoid swelling. That is, do not lean on salinity and liquids, do not sleep too long, choose higher pillows and put cooling compresses on your eyes, such as tea bags.
