RIA News

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev approved the forecast of scientific and technological development of Russia until 2030, prepared by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

"The forecast is formed in the context of the following priority areas for the development of science, technology and technology in the Russian Federation: information and communication technologies, biotechnology, medicine and healthcare, new materials and nanotechnology, environmental management, transport and space systems, energy efficiency and energy conservation," the Cabinet of Ministers said in a statement on Monday.

When preparing this document, the Ministry of Education and Science identified the areas that have the greatest impact on the field of science, identified risks and new opportunities in this area, and also prescribed promising markets, product groups and potential areas of demand for Russian new technology.

As specified in the press release, the development of the forecast began on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation following the meeting of the Presidium of the State Council on April 18, 2008. For the first time, such a forecast was approved at a meeting of the government Commission on High Technologies and Innovations in January 2009.
