In one black, black city, black, black transplantologists are operating…

Repost is not needed: a boy, a kidney and IKEA

Marianna Mirzoyan, Mednovosti"Dear friends-parents!

Please be very careful!!! An incomprehensible group has recently started working in Moscow, these bastards kidnap children in large shopping centers like Mega and others, poison them with drugs, and three days later, exactly on the third day, they return to the place of abduction, but attention is already with only ONE KIDNEY!!! The bastards have been stealing very crumbs for 2-3 years, despite the fact that just two weeks ago there was already 8 such cases in Moscow, information is stubbornly not allowed in the media, allegedly "not to interfere with the course of the investigation." Unfortunately, we learned about this from parents who are happy to see their baby again, even with one kidney. According to the child's descriptions, "there were a lot of women around and some other people." This particular case happened in the Mega shopping center in the Detsky Mir store, mom and dad were distracted for exactly one, ONE second, but that was enough," Amalia Akopova's Facebook post was reposted by almost 9,000 social network users in a few months.

Shortly before the publication of the story about the abduction of a child in "MEGA", people actively spread the call not to leave children in the playrooms of shopping and entertainment centers unattended. At the same time, they retold a terrible story about how a 7-year-old boy was abducted in the "Waypark" and returned to his parents after 10 days without one kidney. Such messages have been spreading for at least 9 years. Those who doubt the veracity of the story are usually answered that "the post was written with one purpose – to warn their closest and dearest people" and "there is no desire to prove something to someone," so we turned to the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow region with questions. Acting senior assistant the head Olga Makarova said that in recent months such cases have not occurred in the Moscow region.

"People who love urban legends will not be convinced by stories about how complicated an organ transplant operation is, how many people are involved in the preparation," says Mikhail Kaabak, MD, head of the kidney transplant department of the Russian Scientific Center for Surgery named after Academician B. V. Petrovsky of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, "they like it when the criminal community consists of from a large number of people, they imagine this well-organized gang, headed by a professor with gray hair. Personally, as a transplantologist, it is unclear to me why to return the abducted child. This is the main contradiction from the point of view of logic. From one person, you can transplant one, two, three, four... eight organs! Why is only one transplanted? You can cut everything out and sell it, and bury the body somewhere. Criminals do it for profit and do not ask for a ransom for a child. I'm not even talking about the fact that the organs of adults, as a rule, work better and are more suitable for transplantation. Why kidnap a child at all? It's better to kidnap an adult. This is simple common sense. I assume that it is people with reduced intelligence, those who are not capable of reasoning, who are led to this legend, are its consumers. They need some kind of brain gum, why take it away?".

It can be assumed that these pseudo-informational messages are ordered by those retail chains that are not mentioned in connection with such stories. Rumors about kidnappings of children in IKEA stores have been replicated around the world for more than 10 years, the company has repeatedly had to write refutations, one of the last was published on the IKEA Hong Kong website. Employees of the Moscow "Waypark" only learned from us about the information being disseminated and preferred not to comment on it, and the press service of the IKEA group of companies in Russia (MEGA shopping center refers to their divisions) stated that there were no cases of child abduction in their stores, and special measures are provided for security. Before leaving the child in the store's playroom, parents must fill out a questionnaire in which they indicate their passport data. A copy of the questionnaire and passport must be presented to pick up the child, and the doors of the game rooms open only from the inside.
