Another financial scandal erupts in Russia around the visit of the Prime Minister of the country Dmitry Medvedev to the Novgorod region. There he took part in a visiting meeting of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Economic Modernization and Innovative Cooperation, the state newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes.

Everything would have looked quite decent if not for the "Russian innovations" themselves, which were also demonstrated to the prime minister by fans of sawing the state budget for various "nanotechnologies". In particular, Dmitry Medvedev was shown an "innovative domestic robot" in the shape of an elephant, passing it off as a Russian development. A photo of the prime minister seriously considering the miracle of science and technology even got into the state media.

However, the "fighting heffalump" was very soon recognized by vigilant bloggers. It turned out to be an imported children's LEGO Education Mindstorms EV3 45560, designed to teach children the basics of robotics. It is also sold in Russia – for example, on Yandex.Market, where the cost of the toy is 7,999 rubles.

Sellers specify that the designer is intended "for boys and girls aged 10 years and older." It should be noted that the "boy" Dmitry Medvedev is already 51 years old, so he did not violate the restrictions of the European manufacturer, and he was so pleased with the toy that he did not even mind allocating 12.5 billion rubles from the Russian state budget for further "development". It is this amount, according to the prime minister, that is planned to be spent "on financing the national technology initiative."
