United Instrument-Making Corporation became the winner of the first national award in the field of import substitution "Priority-2015" in the nomination "Defense Industry". The award ceremony took place on December 9 at the Pushkin State Museum.

By the end of 2016, the Corporation will invest almost 1 billion rubles in the development and production of modern medical equipment. A number of already created prototypes and pre-production samples of medical products are presented to the general public at the International Exhibition "Healthcare-2015", which is taking place these days in Moscow.

The Corporation demonstrates, in particular, the project of a portable rapid diagnostic system "Reader", capable of quickly identifying viruses and bacteria in the body, as well as the first Russian three-chamber pacemaker "Vegaritm", which is now undergoing certification and will be put into mass production in 2016.

"As part of the import substitution program, we are developing modern products and forming new production facilities," comments Alexander Kulish, head of the development and production of medical equipment at United Instrument Corporation. – By 2017, on the basis of our Vega concern and other enterprises of the holding, 10 serial production of world-class medical devices will be organized. In the next 5 years, we will create over 30 ready-made samples of new electronic products for healthcare, including systems for diagnostics, surgery, cardiology and other areas of medicine."

The exposition also presents a device for sterile connection of highways for donor operations "Vega-SM-01" and consumables for it – disposable plates for welding plastic highways through which blood and various biomaterials are distilled. The need of Russian healthcare institutions for such consumables is estimated at several million pieces annually. However, there were no cheap domestic analogues until recently, the purchase of imported ones costs the budget about 1 billion rubles a year.

"Externally, it is a simple foil plate. But in fact, it is a knife, inside of which is hidden a complex chemical and electronic filling for sterile cutting and welding of donor highways," explains Alexander Kulish. – The slightest mistake in the composition and design leads to the fact that the plate will not work. Nevertheless, we were able to create an analog that costs much cheaper and is not inferior in quality to foreign samples, as well as organize its serial production with a capacity of up to 10 million units per year. The plate is universal – it is compatible with both imported devices and the domestic Vega-SM-01 of our production. In 2016, we will begin serial deliveries of this device and welding plates to the market. Requests are already being received – not only from Russia, but also from neighboring countries, in particular, from Kazakhstan and Belarus."

About 200 million rubles have been invested in the development of welding plates and the creation of a production line. In general, the volume of financial investments in the corporation's healthcare projects in 2014-15 amounted to more than 670 million rubles and will reach more than 950 million rubles by the end of next year.

The exhibition "Healthcare-2015" takes place on December 7-11, 2015 at the Expocentre Fairgrounds on Krasnaya Presnya. New advanced developments in almost all areas of modern medicine are demonstrated by leading Russian and foreign manufacturers. The event is attended by 1000 companies from all federal districts of Russia and 39 countries of the world. The national expositions are represented by Germany, Hong Kong, China, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan, and the Czech Republic.
