GenerationS will be the world's first platform for creating
corporate startup accelerators
RVC has defined the concept of the federal accelerator of technological startups GenerationS-2015. This year, the GenerationS infrastructure will be used to create corporate and industry accelerators in cooperation with Russian corporations.
The acceleration of projects in GenerationS-2015 will take place in six industry areas determined based on the current needs of Russian corporations:
- Smart City, technologies for life;
- Biotechnologies and medicine;
- Technologies and materials in the oil and gas sector;
- Modern power generation;
- High technologies and industrial tools for the aerospace industry;
- Automatic and robotic complexes and systems.
Thus, the best technology startups selected based on the results of a multi-stage examination will have the opportunity to finalize their project directly with specialists of Russian companies interested in finding promising developments on the open market.
"This year, the GenerationS model itself and its ideology will radically change," said Gulnara Bikkulova, Member of the Management Board, Director of the RVC Innovation Markets Department. – We are creating a platform that will allow Russian corporations to become part of the existing innovation ecosystem of universities, incubators, technology parks, investors, development institutes, etc. and to test various tools of "open innovation". In turn, our partners involved in the development of startups will have access to the expertise and other resources of our corporate partners."
GenerationS was launched by RVC in 2013, becoming Russia's first accelerator of technology startups on a federal scale. In 2014, within the framework of GenerationS, industry accelerators in the areas of BiotechMed, Cleantech, IT, Industrial were presented for the first time in Russia. In 2015, GenerationS will become the world's first platform for creating corporate and industry accelerators focused on the needs of Russian and international corporations.
Every corporate accelerator (track) GenerationS will be organized jointly by RVC, a partner corporation and a track operator with expertise in the search and development of startups. The search for projects to participate in the accelerator will be carried out through the GenerationS regional partner network, which unites startup schools, business incubators, universities and other participants of the innovation ecosystem working with startups.
Accelerator partner corporations will be announced at the official launch of GenerationS-2015, which will take place at the end of April.
