The First International Medical Investment Forum (MMIF-2017) was held at the Congress Center of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. The new platform is designed to attract the attention of the Ministry of Health, investment funds and various commercial structures to the opportunities and fresh projects in the medical services market. The forum was visited by a FAN-TV crew.

At the site of the new forum, Russian scientists, government officials, heads of leading domestic and foreign investment companies, research institutes and medical centers discussed the problems of industry development and concrete steps to change it.

Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Galina Karelova, speaking to the participants of the MMIF-2017, outlined the essence of the forum:

– Where to get money? This topic has always been one of the most important. At the present stage, this topic acquires a special sound. Science, technology, and information technology are developing. They come in such a way that all this requires huge investments.

Attracting business investment is the main condition for the survival of the industry. According to the Ministry of Health, thanks to the law on public-private partnership adopted in 2016, more than 70 similar projects are being implemented in Russian healthcare with a total investment of over 60 billion rubles.

Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia Maxim Fateev, in an interview with a FAN-TV correspondent, said:

– Only private investments in medicine in Russia in recent years have amounted to 120 billion rubles. They are more than public investments. This suggests that the state is now interested in the development of medical industries, and pharmaceuticals, and the production of medical equipment. Foreign investors have invested 1 billion euros in the development of the medical industry in Russia literally over the past 2-3 years. The largest foreign companies of the so-called countries that supported the sanctions have opened their production here.

Within the framework of the forum, representatives of Sechenov University and the Russian venture fund Primer Capital signed an agreement on the development of the first potential drug for the treatment of celiac disease – hereditary gluten intolerance.

Vadim Tarasov, Head of the Department of Pharmacology of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, spoke with a FAN-TV reporter:

– From 1 to 10% of the population suffer from this disease, to one degree or another. Our drug is now interested in the Russian venture fund Primer Capital, which is ready to invest good enough money for us to pass, to go through clinical trials. Based on the results of clinical trials, it will become clear which company we will cooperate with for the further production of this drug.

The law "On Telemedicine", adopted in July this year, challenged all domestic healthcare institutions. Interactive sessions in the formats "doctor – doctor" or "doctor – patient" are becoming more accessible every day in different regions of the country. The situation was commented by the Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Sergey Kraevoy:

– Technically, we are ready or, let's say, we are preparing for this. We have devices for remote removal of basic physiological parameters. We have image evaluation devices. We already have even surgical robots, when, in principle, an operator can be thousands of kilometers away and use manipulators to perform the most subtle surgical interventions. There was no regulatory field – now it has appeared. Now we have to digest all this, write, prepare and adopt several by-laws–orders, because the law is the general structure of actions, and now we need to do the steps of these actions directly.

Russian pharmaceutical companies, regional Ministries of Health, creators of the latest technologies in the field of medicine presented their unique projects. Among them is a robot for practicing the skills of resuscitation and anesthesiology of the fifth generation. The development of scientists from Kazan was put into production for the first time this year and received positive reviews abroad.

Nikolay Tikhonov, the head of the development of the company "Eidos-medicine", came to Moscow from Kazan. He showed an unusual novelty to a FAN-TV correspondent:

– The company "Eidos-medicine" presents a fifth-generation robot, a robot for practicing resuscitation and anesthesiology skills. It includes more than 120 functions, such as intubation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, working with more than 50 medications, the robot simulates sweat, tears, and blood flows. We can defibrate it. Blinks – we can check the pupillary reflex: we will see that his pupils react, which means that he is functioning normally.

– What kind of material?

– Silicone is used for the skin. In terms of tactile sensations, it is very similar to the skin. The robot uses composite materials to simulate musculoskeletal structure and high articulation. None of the competitors' products allow this.

Vsevolod Litsko, Public Relations Manager of Generium Company (Moscow), told about some new drugs:

– The Generium company is a Russian company, it fully complies with the principles of import substitution. And, in particular, produces the only three blood clotting factors in the world for the treatment of patients with hemophilia of all types. Those drugs that were previously supplied from abroad for the treatment of hemophilia are now all Russian-made.

Sergey Vesnin, chief designer of the RTM-Diagnostics company, Candidate of Technical Sciences (Moscow), also showed his invention to a FANTV reporter:

– This device receives a person's own radiation in the microwave range. That is, human tissues emit electromagnetic waves, and with the help of a sensor we receive this electromagnetic radiation that a person emits. Between rounds of screening, I had a mammogram, looked, but there is still no malignant growth, but there are suspicious areas, there are some precancerous conditions, it is important to monitor this process. This is for preventive examinations, for hidden inflammatory processes, in order to identify. And then an in-depth study and treatment of this problem is required.
