Innovation development in Russia is on the right track – Udaltsov
The development of innovations in Russia is on the right track, the country still needs different types of innovative structures, said Yuri Udaltsov, Director of Innovative Development of Rusnano, at a round table held on August 28 at the RIA Novosti press center and dedicated to innovation.
Yu.A. Udaltsov was born on July 30, 1961 in Moscow. In 1984 he graduated from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Economics of MIPT. Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. In 1987 – 1996 he worked at the Computing Center of the USSR Academy of Sciences (later RAS). In 1996-2000 – Director of the Moscow representative office of the Karana Corporation. In 2000-2002, he was the General Director of Karana LLC, into which the representative office was transformed.
In 2002-2003 – Head of the Corporate Strategy Department of JSC RAO UES of Russia. Since 2004 – Head of the Department of Energy Reform of RAO "UES". Since March 2004 – Member of the Management Board, Head of the Energy Reform Department of RAO UES. In 2004-2008 – Member of the Management Board, Head of the Reform Management Center of RAO UES of Russia. Since 2009 – Member of the Management Board, Director for Innovative Development of the Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies – VM.
"I am a supporter of the fact that a country that has switched to an innovative type of development needs different institutions for different types of innovative development. At least until the country finds its place in the global labor division market. No one can say in advance that we will be the world's main space power or the main biotech power. At this stage, I would see the need to stimulate everything and support all the shoots that are breaking through. We cannot say that we are a country like Israel or Finland that will support startups exclusively. Is it right with us now? It seems to me that everything is developing dynamically and therefore correctly," he said.
Igor Agamirzyan, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC RVC, Alexander Galitsky, Managing Partner of Almaz Capital Partners, Stanislav Naumov, Vice President of the Skolkovo Foundation, and Oleg Fomichev, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, are also taking part in the discussion.
There are several institutes of development in the field of innovation in Russia, including the Rusnano Company, the Skolkovo Foundation, the Russian Venture Company, the Fund for the Promotion of Small Forms of Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Sphere.
The round table is the first in a series of events dedicated to discussing the agenda of the Moscow International Forum for Innovative Development "Open Innovations", which will be held from October 31 to November 3 at Expocentre Fairgrounds.
