Incubator Aggregator

Business incubators in Russia: 5 strokes to the portraitZlata Nikolaeva, Slon.ru
It cannot be said that the situation in Russia in the field of support for small business and innovative entrepreneurship is at least somewhat close to ideal - but this sphere cannot be called a scorched desert either.

In the presence of a number of factors: a good idea, the ability and desire to work, perseverance, luck, in the end, it is quite possible to get support. For example, in business incubators, which, contrary to the opinion of residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg, are not only in the two capitals, but also in the regions.

The Startup Afisha project came to the aid of aspiring businessmen and startups by opening an aggregator for business incubators in Russia. Incubators are gathered in one place in all regions of the vast country (there are such centers of business culture, however, not everywhere) - however, only those that support innovative entrepreneurship. The description of each incubator says what types of support can be obtained in it: premises for work, financing, equipment, expertise, PR, and so on. A cursory search allows you to get an idea of the incubator market in Russia.

5 strokes to the portraitThe largest number of business incubators - 22 – is located in Moscow.

  • Among them: Digital October, Strogino business incubator, Glavstart, HSE incubator and others. There are only three incubators in St. Petersburg: Ingria, the QD Intercollegiate Business Incubator, and the Smolenka Technopark business incubator. Novosibirsk, the "scientific capital" of Russia, boasts only three incubators.
  • In general, it is possible to single out entire regions in the regional centers of which a highly developed infrastructure has been formed for the development of innovative projects: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Perm.
  • Incubators in Moscow and St. Petersburg, first of all, are distinguished by the volume of services provided and the willingness to accept residents, regardless of where the legal entity of the project was registered. At the same time, most regional business incubators consider applications for placement only from local projects. The exception is some incubators in Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg and Perm, which provide comprehensive support to residents and work with startups from all regions.
  • According to the authors of the project, most Russian incubators have learned to provide comprehensive support to entrepreneurs – that is, not only to give advice at the initial stage of project development, but also to provide premises and financing.
  • However, most startups do not need premises – incubators are much more popular, which, instead of handing out chairs and desks, introduce their wards to experts, investors and help them enter the market.
