Healthcare is changing rapidly under the influence of discoveries and new technologies. The Healthcare Business & Technology publication interviewed medical experts and hospital managers to find out what hospitals and the provision of medical care in general will look like in less than two years.

News about breakthrough medical discoveries comes every day, and new technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence are already changing healthcare. Industry experts interviewed by Healthcare Business & Technology identified trends that will determine the transformation, believe that medical gadgets will become the main trend of the industry by 2020, and the provision of many services will leave hospitals directly to patients' homes.

The majority of respondents stressed the growing importance of remote and digital medicine. New opportunities will seriously change the interaction between patients and doctors.

For example, tests can be taken without leaving home and at any convenient time – the hospital will send everything necessary for this by mail.

The development of technologies will lead to the emergence of micro–hospitals - specialized medical institutions that provide a certain range of services. Their recruitment will vary depending on the needs of the area where the hospital is located.

Medical gadgets will cease to be toys, their importance in providing real help, prevention and diagnosis will grow constantly. For example, fitness trackers will allow you to diagnose various diseases, and smart speakers will facilitate the care of bedridden patients.

Some experts claim that the analysis of huge amounts of data collected by such devices will revolutionize medicine by itself.

The third important feature is the growing possibilities of integrating medical technologies. Their penetration into the new environment will gradually change the design of houses, shopping malls and public spaces.

Experts urge doctors, businesses and authorities to accept and stimulate changes by investing in medical innovations.

Artificial intelligence is developing not only in the field of healthcare. Experts believe that very soon algorithms will learn to understand people better and become more independent, and quantum technologies will transform machine learning.
