Dementia Self-portrait

Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia in which the human brain ceases to perform its functions. As a rule, this disease makes itself felt when a person turns 65. Due to the destruction of the brain, men and women stop recognizing their loved ones, experience great problems with thinking and movement.

The image below shows the works of American artist William Uttermolen, who was diagnosed with dementia in 1995. Self-portraits show how over time he lost his ability to draw. A clear proof of how terrible Alzheimer's disease is.
