Do you want to study bioinformatics?

Saint Petersburg Academic University of the Russian Academy of Sciences, with the support of JetBrains, is launching open courses in bioinformatics in St. Petersburg.

St. Petersburg Academic University of the Russian Academy of Sciences was established on the basis of the Scientific and Educational Center of the A.F.Ioffe Institute of Physics and Technology as an Academic University of Physics and Technology of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2002 by the decree of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences in order to integrate science and education in the field of physics, mathematics and natural sciences. The initiative of his organization belongs to the Nobel Prize in Physics laureate academician Zh. I. Alferov.
In 2008, the University received state accreditation, in 2009 it was renamed St. Petersburg Academic University, in 2010 it included the Physics and Technology School-Lyceum of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Scientific and Educational Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The courses are mainly aimed at senior students of mathematical and technical specialties interested in bioinformatics.

The courses are open to free students and are free (but you need to fill out a form). Certification is possible for free listeners (checking homework, conducting and checking exams), followed by the issuance of diplomas. The program is compiled with increasing complexity, so to understand the lectures, it will be necessary to get acquainted with the material already read.

Lectures and seminars will be held on the basis of SPbAU (art.m. Courage Square) on Saturdays.

In the fall of 2010 are planned:
Molecular Biology for Bioinformatics — saba.spbsu.ru/courses/molbiol
Fundamentals of Bioinformatics — saba.spbsu.ru/courses/bioinf
Seminar (invited lecturers) — saba.spbsu.ru/courses/seminar
