Russian Tech Week: results

Traditionally, 2 times a year, in spring and autumn, Russian Tech Week brings together the best entrepreneurs from different parts of Russia and abroad. This year the event was attended by 1800 people, 240 reports on digital technologies were presented, 55 Russian and foreign companies presented their technological developments for solving business problems.

From May 21 to 24, Technocrat, together with the Department of Information Technologies of Moscow and the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, organized a week-long conference on innovative digital technologies – Russian Tech Week 2019 on the basis of the Skolkovo Science and Technology Park.

10 thematic streams were held on a single platform, where topical issues in the field of digital transformation of Russian business, artificial intelligence, big data and machine learning, financial, blockchain, regulatory and HR technologies, virtual and augmented reality, business analytics, investments in Russian startup projects were discussed.

"Russian Tech Week is a unique platform where 10 thematic streams on a variety of technological directions for business will be held at once. Our audience is mainly the corporate segment and startup projects. Interestingly, approximately 10% of the audience are state corporations, which are also already beginning to pick up the wave of digitalization. As a result, we constantly analyze our audience in order to give the most relevant content and improve our product as much as possible. There are events of this kind on the market, but only at Russian Tech Week, participants can get such a multiformat with practical knowledge that will really help their companies make a powerful competitive leap," said Oleg Petryashev, CEO of Technocrat.

The headliners of the event were: Alexander Galitsky, founder of the Almaz Capital venture fund, Ilia Dimitrov, Digital Economy Ombudsman, Sergey Doschenko, Business Development Director of the Top Ceo Team, Maxim Tambiev, Regional Director of Forrester Research in Russia, Boris Kim, Chairman of the Board of Directors and co-founder of the QIWI international payment system, David Yan, founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ABBYY Group of companies (included in the ranking of the 200 richest businessmen in Russia according to Forbes magazine).

Other speakers included representatives of the largest companies in Russia and the world: Yandex, Megafon, MTS, Rostelecom, Sberbank, VTB, Alfa-Bank, Gazprombank, Uralsib Bank, Otkritie Bank, Rosatom, OZON, M.Video-Eldorado, X5 Retail Group (Pyaterochka, Perekrestok, Carousel), Vkusville, Gartner, CROC, SAP, NVIDIA, IBM, 1C-Bitrix, <url>.

Separately, it is worth highlighting the one-and-a-half-hour workshop "Creative Implant for Technology" from the leading Russian school of creative thinking "CAVIAR" (among the cases are the best creatives for: Mail.Ru Group, Rambler, Nike, Sberbank, Otkritie Bank, Home Credit Bank, Yota, Rostelecom, Gazprom, Siemens, Aeroflot, Channel One, Danone, MEGA shopping center chain, an international developer of mobile and browser-based MMO games with a multi-million audience "Plarium"), which took place on May 23 as part of the thematic stream "Digital Business Transformation". The workshop's host, General Director of the IKRA School of Creative Thinking, Vasily Lebedev, immersed the participants in three technological epochs, where trainees had to come up with solutions to the challenges of the time using creative methodologies. As a result of the lesson, the participants gained an understanding of how to profitably use technology in business, based on the needs of users in the future, which technologies will be most in demand and how to integrate them into communication.

In parallel with the speeches at the event, an exhibition of technological developments of Russian and foreign companies functioned. For example, the company "VR Bank" presented its fintech marketplace for IT companies, banks, telecom industry and other financial institutions. The company "Mains Lab C" presented its developments and analytical tools in the field of machine learning, computer vision and working with big data for insurance companies. The Russian startup blockchain platform Fabrik, designed to build an independent network of distributed registries, combined IBM Hiperledger Fabric and domestic GOST cryptography. MIA Rossiya Segodnya, together with its technology partner Samsung Electronics, demonstrated RIA Novosti's development projects in virtual (VR) and augmented (AR) reality formats, which have been successfully used in the field of journalism since 2018.

Also among the exhibitors are companies: Seldon, Intelion Mining, virtual voice operator "Quint", blockchain laboratory "Digital Technologies", Blicico, Arround, Innosilicon and others.

Among the interesting events at the conference, it is worth noting the Pre-party evening, which took place on May 21 at the Baryshnikov estate in Moscow on Myasnitskaya Street. The theme of the evening: "Epic fail: woe from wit". 3 top managers: Boris Kim, co-founder of QIWI, Vitaly Saginov, independent expert and ex-head of big data at MTS, as well as CEO of Potok LLC.Digital" (a service for issuing loans to businesses by individuals, part of the Alfa Group group of companies) Nikita Abramenko shared their experience about the biggest failures in their businesses. The host of the evening was the columnist of the radio station "Business FM" Nadezhda Grosheva.

On May 24, as part of the event, a two-stream Day of practical master classes was held on the basis of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. At the "Transformation Technologies" stream, participants gained knowledge on the development of smart contracts on the Ethereum platform, and also studied methods for increasing conversions on company websites through the use of multi-channel trigger chains. During the "Change Management in the Company" course, participants discussed legal issues and regulatory regulation in the field of financial and IT technologies, learned how to create a prototype of an innovative digital service (from product design to IT architecture solutions). At the end of the day, the students received a certificate of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics on the completion of training.

The participants of Russian Tech Week 2019 noted the high level of organization, excellent presentations by speakers and raising topical issues related to the development of innovative digital technologies in Russia and in the world.
