Health in funk style

A lecture hall "Young Old. Health in the funk style": about the health of seniors – in modern language

"Philanthropist"

On April 21, 2019, Moscow will host "Young Old. Funk–style Health" is a free lecture about evidence-based medicine and healthy lifestyle with a human face for middle-aged and older citizens. The lecture hall is free for all participants upon prior registration. All lectures will also be available online and recorded.

Young Old is a project for "new seniors", modern and active adult citizens. A series of lectures within the framework of the project will become a new platform for those who want to live fully and consciously, receive reliable information and pump up useful skills, to discuss the needs and interests of new seniors, for a thoughtful conversation with experts in various fields. The first of these lectures will be "Young Old. Health in the funk style", which will take place on April 21 in the Nekrasov Library (Baumanskaya str., 58/25 p. 14) and will run from morning to evening.

Topics that are especially relevant for new seniors were selected for the lecture hall: heart and blood vessels, stroke and its prevention, multisensory diversity and overcoming hearing problems, cognitive aging, depression and anxiety, women's health issues, proper nutrition and much more. At the same time, the organizers refuse a series of talking heads in white coats and include as many active formats as possible in the program, because talking about health is impossible without inspiration.

Wonderful doctors who like to patiently and thoughtfully answer questions after lectures are invited to speak at the lecture. This is, for example, a well-known cardiologist and a brilliant speaker Anton Rodionov (PMSMU im. Sechenov), who will tell you how to protect yourself from cardiovascular disasters and what to do if a stroke has already happened. Oleg Kostyukovich, Senior Group's chief rehabilitologist, will also talk about normal rehabilitation. General risks for women's health and the topic of menopause will be discussed by oncogynecologist Vladimir Nosov, head of the EMC Gynecology Clinic. Psychiatrist Natalia Rivkina (EMC) will raise the topic of depression and anxiety, the risks of which increase with age.

Several sessions will be devoted to cognitive health and the importance of diversity of life experiences and sensations. In particular, there will be a big conversation about hearing and its quality, to which surdologists and specialists in the field of hearing prosthetics (Unitron) are invited. It will be complemented by a creative training – an acoustic performance performed by the participants of the lecture hall themselves, which will allow not only to play exotic instruments, but also to hear your inner voice of striving for a happier life. The training will be conducted by psychologist and psychotherapist Dmitry Drozdov, president of the Association of Understanding Psychotherapy.

This is not the end of the practical part. Participants will receive first aid training in critical situations, body music practice, which will help to feel and establish a dialogue with their own body, dance improvisation, as well as training about motivation for healthy lifestyle and fighting bad habits, which will be conducted by psychologist Natalia Kiselnikova (PI RAO) and the legendary "triathlete grandmother" Elena Rosyaeva, she swam across the Bosphorus at the age of 63.

The main audience of Young Old is middle–aged and older people, but the organizers invite participants of all ages to the lecture hall.

A detailed program, all experts and the latest news can be found on the project's website and on Facebook
