Doctors explained how to distinguish a heart attack from neurosis

Sometimes even young, healthy and athletic people complain of "injections" or unpleasant sensations in the heart area. How to understand that a temporary ailment is not dangerous and, conversely, in which cases you need to worry and run to the doctor?

"There is such a concept as cardioneurosis. The fact is that we are all different - someone can objectively and without emotion to assess certain stressful situations and information, and someone is too imaginative and prone to neurosis, which can themselves lead to feelings of "pinching" and pain in the heart area and real shortness of breath, "- explains the doctor.

If you have something prickled during physical activity (and passed) - it is not terrible.

An alarming situation if the pain appears when a person stops after exertion - this is similar to heart pain. And this is a reason to see a doctor.

In most cases, even with chest pain, it is enough to just relax and breathe. True, if the case is episodic. And if the painful sensations are repeated, the examination is still worth undergoing.

Very often people relieve such discomfort in the heart area with the help of popular herbal remedies - Corvalol, Valoserdine, Valocordine, Valemidine - they have an accumulative effect, and can help only with prolonged use. And we feel relief due to the content of sedative components in them and (in some preparations) phenobarbital, which affects the nervous system, calming it down. By the way, in Western countries the use of phenobarbital is prohibited - it is believed that this substance causes an addictive effect.

Another manifestation of a failure in the autonomic nervous system is a panic attack. A person not only experiences an attack of fear and anxiety, he has an increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, increased breathing, a feeling of suffocation. Regular physical activity and quality sleep help to better cope with stressful situations.
