Advanced Mongolian nanotechnology

During the Convention of the Mongols of the World, held in Ulan-Ude, the chairman of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Alexander Leonidovich Aseev, signed on his behalf a protocol and an agreement on cooperation with the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia. Separate agreements with her were also signed by the heads of the Irkutsk and Buryat scientific Centers of the SB RAS, corresponding members of the RAS Igor Vyacheslavovich Bychkov and Boris Vandanovich Bazarov.

Today, the Siberian Branch cooperates with scientific organizations in Mongolia on the basis of 15 agreements, including grants from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR) and the Russian Humanitarian Science Foundation (RGNF). Among the most promising areas of cooperation at the Convention were nanotechnology, in particular, work on the production of nanoscale carbon particles.

In addition to traditional forms of joint scientific work – conferences and seminars, the creation of temporary and permanent research teams, the exchange of specialists and graduate students, access to unique facilities, installations and centers for collective use, joint expeditions and the like – the document provides for joint financing of integration projects. It will be conducted in the form of the creation of a special fund on a parity basis with the definition of projects on a competitive basis and joint control over the mutually beneficial distribution of the results of activities. The parties will also encourage investments to create industries that produce high-tech products.
