Are you being treated for Parkinsonism? Beware of any complications!

The Frenchman demanded compensation from pharmacists for homosexuality
Copper newsA resident of France has sued the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline and his doctor, claiming that the prescribed medication for Parkinsonism caused an obsessive need for homosexual sexual relations and gambling, reports AFP (Man claims Glaxo drug made him a 'gay sex addict').

According to the lawyers of 51-year-old Didier Jambart, the behavior of a married man with two children changed dramatically after the start of taking the drug Requip (ropinirole from the group of non-ergoline dopamine receptor agonists) in 2003. The Frenchman developed a morbid addiction to online gambling, because of which he squandered family savings and committed thefts.

In addition, Zhambar began to experience an obsessive need for homosexual sexual contacts, forcing him to change into women's clothes and advertise himself online. Subsequent dates with strangers led to the fact that he was raped.

According to the Frenchman, the results of obsessive desires led him to attempt suicide three times.

After stopping taking the medication in 2005, Zhambar's desires and behavior returned to normal. However, by this time he had managed to get a severe psychological trauma and was removed from his post in the Ministry of Defense.

In his lawsuit, Zhambar demanded compensation in the amount of 450 thousand euros from GlaxoSmithKline, "producing a defective drug," and his neurologist, who did not provide full information about the side effects of the drug. The statement of claim was filed on February 1.

Isolated reports of the ability of ropinirole to cause hypersexuality and gambling have appeared since the beginning of its sales in the late 1990s, but the corresponding warning in the instructions for use appeared only in 2006.
