Barcode for patients

Medical cards of Britons are now placed on a bracelet on the armA patient identification system developed jointly by HP and LaserBand is beginning to be widely implemented in the UK.

This system enables hospitals to quickly print wristbands for patients with a bar code or color code.

Such bracelets, manufactured by LaserBand, can be printed using HP LaserJet laser technology directly in the hospital by its staff, entering information directly from the card of the incoming patient. This reduces the waiting time and increases the efficiency of the hospital. The barcode on the bracelet will also improve patient care, since it can be scanned during all procedures, for example, for administration of medicinal prescriptions, obtaining research results, as well as for postoperative care, since patient data is always updated and available.

The initial introduction of the new product was successfully carried out in the UK; currently, the technology is available in other countries of Europe, as well as the Middle East and Africa.
