World Health Day 2014 is dedicated to the prevention of vector-borne diseases. Vector–borne diseases are infectious and parasitic diseases of humans and animals, the pathogens of which are transmitted by insects and arthropods. Transmission of the pathogen occurs when bitten by mosquitoes, fleas, mosquitoes, ticks, or when infected vector secretions get on the skin and mucous membranes and other ways. The purpose of the World Health Day information campaign in 2014 is to raise public awareness of vector-borne diseases and their vectors (mosquitoes, mosquitoes, bedbugs, ticks, gastropods), as well as to inform citizens traveling to countries where these diseases pose a threat to health and measures for their prevention. On the eve of the active tourist season, Rospotrebnadzor urges the population to pay attention to their health and the health of their loved ones.
