Berry again? Lean on the chocolate!

Excess weight masks wrinklesElvira Koshkina, Compulenta

Employees of the Medical School at the University of the Western Reserve District (USA) claim that excess weight changes the appearance of wrinkles. However, young people whose weight exceeds the norm look older than their peers. Although a person's aging depends on their genetics, 40% of changes on the face occur under the influence of other factors, including exposure to sunlight and smoking.

Researchers studied 65 pairs of twins to find out what lifestyle features made them old. The results showed that the fuller twins looked younger than their siblings after the age of 54. And those who had age spots and damaged blood vessels on their skin, in addition to wrinkles, looked older than others. Those with darker skin also looked older than their years.

Animal experiments have previously shown that consuming large amounts of fat makes the skin more susceptible to the negative effects of sunlight. However, in humans, fat can mask age-related wrinkles.

Recall that the daily intake of dark chocolate saves the skin from aging caused by exposure to the sun. To protect against wrinkles that appear due to ultraviolet radiation in the sun, it is enough to eat a couple of squares of chocolate bars every day.
