Bioforum-2014 has started its work

The international forum of biopharmaceuticals opened in Pushchino near Moscow

The scientific conference "Bioforum 2014", which is a practical, discussion and training platform, is included in the list of events within the framework of the Year of Science Russia – EU 2014. This was reported to the correspondent of IA REGNUM on April 22 in the press service of the city administration.

The Forum is designed to help address the current state and potential of biopharmaceutical clusters in Russia.

The forum program includes various blocks focused on the implementation of educational, scientific and innovative projects. So, on April 23, a Russian-German session will be held, which will be held within the framework of the EU-Russia Year of Science. The East-West Center of Kassel University, the German House of Science and Innovation, the Embassy of Germany in the Russian Federation, and the Russian Foundation for Basic Research will act as co-organizers and partners from the German side. The program includes speeches by the head of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Gregor Berghorn, a representative of the Moscow office of the Association. Helmholtz Olga Karelskaya, lectures by outstanding scientists from Germany and Russia, presentations of works by young scientists from Germany and Russia.

German scientists represent universities such as Kassel, Osnabrück, and Julich. From the Russian side – the Institute of Biochemistry named after Bach (Moscow), Lomonosov Moscow State University, institutes of the Pushchinsky Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Director of the Center for Advanced European Studies (CAESAR) Professor Benjamin Kaupp from Bonn will give a lecture "Artificial spermatozoa – life at the limit of possibilities". Head of the Laboratory of Nanostructures and Nanotechnology of the Pushchinsky Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences Viktor Morozov will give a lecture "Biological nanoaerosols".

The working language is English, simultaneous translation will be provided. The estimated number of participants and listeners is 100-150 people.

April 25 at the Branch of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry named after M.Shemyakin and Yu.Ovchinnikova RAS will host the conference "Innovative Territorial Clusters. Development mechanisms", dedicated to the exchange of experience in the development of clusters, support programs, joint development, establishing interaction interfaces, creating horizontal links aimed at the overall development of biotechnologies in Russia.

Denis Butsaev, Minister of Investment and Innovation of the Moscow Region, will make a presentation at the Bioforum on "Mechanisms for supporting clusters in the Moscow Region". The program also includes presentations by representatives of scientific foundations and employees implementing cluster development programs in the Moscow region.
