BFC "Severny" will become a base for 100 companies that create medicines
The Severny biopharmaceutical cluster, being created in the Moscow region, will become the basis for the creation of at least 100 small innovative companies that will be able to produce at least 300 import-substituting medicines, the press service of the government of the Moscow Region reports with reference to the Minister of Industry of the region Vladimir Kozyrev.
Speaking during an online conference, Kozyrev noted that the Moscow region is one of the subjects of the Russian Federation with a developed pharmaceutical industry. "There are 25 large and medium-sized organizations that produce pharmaceutical products in the region," the minister said.
According to Kozyrev, in the science city of Pushchino, "where the lion's share of domestic biotechnologies is concentrated ..., a very large project of creating a biopharmaceutical complex "Bioran" will be implemented."
"The work is progressing hard, but it is still progressing. Vnesheconombank has joined the process, and I hope that everything will work out, and we will have an enterprise similar to which there is no in Russia, there will be our own domestic insulin and many other dosage forms," Kozyrev said.
In addition, he recalled that a complex of pharmaceutical enterprises will be built on the territory of the Volokolamsk district. "Currently, 10 companies intend to take part in the project. According to preliminary estimates, the commissioning of their production facilities will make it possible to make the shares of domestic and imported drugs equal on the Russian market," the minister added.
The BFC "Severny", created on the basis of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), is focused on bringing together scientific organizations, universities and small innovative companies to develop medicines and technologies in the field of living systems. In addition to MIPT, the Severny includes, in particular, the cluster of biological and medical technologies of the Skolkovo Foundation, the HimRar High Technology Center, Akrikhin, Protek companies, and the Pharmzashita research and production Center.
