Krasnoyarsk scientists introduce innovative drugs to increase the yield of cattle

The scientific team of the Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University has created an innovative drug based on unique microorganisms designed to increase the yield of cattle. The development also allows you to get the best quality milk with a high fat and protein content.

New strains of microbes "Bacillus subtilis", created by Krasnoyarsk scientists, are registered in the All-Russian Collection of industrial microorganisms. The researchers note that the dried culture of these microorganisms is used to produce a drug whose enzymes effectively break down starch. The inclusion of this supplement in the diet contributes to the accelerated growth of calf weight and milk productivity in dairy cows.

The development was successfully tested on the basis of the agricultural production cooperative "Elite" of the Yemelyanovsky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. According to the results obtained, with the introduction of the developed drug into the diet of animals, the average daily growth of calves was increased by 70 grams, which is 21% more than when using traditional diets.

Project manager, Head of the Department of Anatomy, Pathological Anatomy and Surgery of Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University Natalia Donkova said that the technology is characterized by low cost and low production costs.

"We have obtained a unique preparation using microorganisms capable of independently splitting starch from vegetable raw materials to simple sugars. At the same time, the level of sugar concentration in the product reaches 70%, — Natalia Donkova explained. — The drugs developed by us will be tested in the near future in the Rybinsk district of the region on the basis of the dairy farm "OPH Solyanskoye". After receiving the results of the final tests, we plan to replicate the technology for the production of drugs to agricultural complexes throughout Russia."

It should be added that the project was carried out within the framework of the state task of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. The development is included in the list of projects of the regional technological platform "Food Security of Siberia" of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
