Moscow old people will have special doctors

A special service to assist the elderly will be established in Moscow in the near future.

Geriatric doctors have already started working in outpatient centers in the east of the capital.

As "MK" was told in the "Directorate for ensuring the activities of public health institutions of the Moscow Autonomous District", currently 25 doctors in the specialty "Geriatrics" have been trained in the district. These are narrow specialists who treat only elderly people. They are well aware of the problems of the body of older people, and therefore they can more accurately diagnose, prescribe treatment and prescribe a more appropriate medicine. Geriatric offices are open in all outpatient centers. Now there are 120 beds in the district to care for the elderly. In the near future, other districts will adopt the experience of the Eastern District.

By the way, now the city authorities are considering a proposal to arrange Open Days in hospitals for veterans on a permanent basis. On such days, they could get advice from specialists of a narrow profile, as well as undergo the most in-demand research.
