Embryonic stem cells returned state funding

The District Court of Appeals in Washington overturned a previous lower court decision prohibiting government funding of human embryonic stem cell research.

Observers see this as an important victory for Barack Obama. In March 2009, he allowed the relevant work to be financed from the budget, but the decree did not come into force until the end of the court proceedings.

According to scientists, stem cell research can play a crucial role in the fight against diseases. Religious organizations are against it.
