A biotechnological laboratory for schoolchildren will be created in Koltsovo for 12 million rubles

The Koltsovo Science City has won a competition for funding to create a biotechnological laboratory on the basis of a children's technopark. This was announced on April 8 by Marina Selivanova, Deputy head of the Koltsovo Science City for Economics, Strategic Planning, Innovation and Investment policy.

7.8 million rubles are provided for the implementation of the project, the total estimated cost of the project is 12 million rubles. The project is planned to be implemented on the basis of the budgetary institution of additional education MBUDO "Constellation".

"We have won a competition for subsidies for the implementation of innovative projects among science cities," Marina Selivanova quotes TASS as saying. – A biotechnological educational and research laboratory will be created in our science city in 2020."

Marina Selivanova noted that within the framework of the project, it is planned to create a laboratory in three areas: cloning and biotechnology of plants, genomic engineering and microbiology, remote monitoring of biological systems.

The laboratory is supposed to be created within the framework of the project "Koltsovo Science City Children's Technopark". According to Marina Selivanova, the allocation of funds will begin in 2020. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to introduce children to advanced technologies in the field of biology and biotechnology, a link will be worked out with research institutes and enterprises of the Koltsovo Science City to involve children in solving real project tasks set by companies.
