Grant for the creation of a prosthesis

The project of a modular bionic prosthetic arm will receive grant support from the Skolkovo Foundation

Last night, on April 18, the results of the regional stage of the Startup Tour were summed up in Veliky Novgorod, the press center of the regional government reports. In the track of biomedical technologies, the first place was taken by the head of the department of innovative developments of NPO KVANT, a graduate of NovSU with a degree in industrial thermal power engineering Stanislav Muravyev with a project of a modular bionic prosthetic arm.

In the same track, another Novgorodian Daniil Losev took third place, who presented the development of directed transport of antibacterial and X-ray contrast agents to the focus of infection using cell containers-leukocytes. Stanislav Muravyev became the superfinalist by the decision of the jury. For the victory, he will receive a grant from the Skolkovo Foundation in the amount of 300 thousand rubles for the implementation of his project. 

Also, Novgorod developers who have successfully performed at the regional stage will take part in the semifinal of the Startup Village conference for technology entrepreneurs. 

"Among the participants of the Startup Tour there are young teams with a great interest in what they are doing, with a desire to bring technological novelty to the industry and ideas about what an innovative project can be promising. Most of the projects require mentoring and additional expert work in the field of the business model and market assessment, which the experts of the Skolkovo Foundation were able to help them with," Ruslan Kamalov, Vice President, Executive Director of the Cluster of Biological and Medical Technologies of the Skolkovo Foundation, commented on the results of the regional stage. 

The regional stage of the Open Innovations Startup Tour was held in Veliky Novgorod on April 17-18. Experts selected 30 of the most promising projects out of 84 that entered the competitive program. The jury of the competition named the winners in three areas: biomedicine, industrial technology and IT. In addition, within the framework of the Startup Tour program, more than a thousand young scientists, students and aspiring technology entrepreneurs from Novgorod and neighboring regions, as well as Moscow and St. Petersburg, were able to communicate with business mentors and experts at mentoring sessions, as well as get an assessment of their projects. Master classes and lectures by representatives of development funds and successful innovators were held on a special track for pupils of school technical circles.
