Kazakh anti-folk healer got under the article

A criminal case has been opened in the South Kazakhstan region against a witch doctor who treated HIV infection with cologne injections. Saltanat Karakozova, the head of the press service of the Department of Internal Affairs of South Kazakhstan Region, told reporters about this yesterday, the correspondent of the Kazakhstan Today agency reports.

"A criminal case has been initiated in accordance with Article 266 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan – "Illegal private medical activity". A number of examinations have been appointed, including a forensic one - in order to establish the cause of the consequences, and a forensic psychiatric examination has been appointed for the suspect," S. Karakozova said.

As previously reported, Beine Karzhaubayeva, a resident of the Tolebi district, stated that she could cure HIV infection. She told people who contacted her that they needed to interrupt the course of special ARV therapy and inject cologne. In September, after such treatment, a seven-year-old girl was admitted to intensive care. Doctors diagnosed intoxication, necrosis of the tissues of the hand where the injections were made.

It is also known that a 34-year-old woman who contracted HIV infection from her infant was treated with cologne by a healer.

The president of the South Kazakhstan Regional Fund "Protection of Children from AIDS" Zhanneta Zhazykbayeva criticized the media, which wrote about B. Karzhaubayeva as a healer. "People from newspapers found out about her and started coming all the way from Pavlodar," Zh. Zhazykbaeva.

An article about B. Karzhaubayeva was published in one of the local newspapers under the title "The healer who found a cure for the disease of the century".
