More than 500 specialized centers will be created to maintain the health of Russians

In 2009, 502 health centers will be established in 83 subjects of the Russian Federation on the basis of regional and municipal health institutions, reports Medportal.ru . Each center is designed for 200 thousand people of the urban population.

As reported in the press release of the Ministry of Health and Social Development, the main focus of the centers will be the preservation of the health of citizens and the formation of their healthy lifestyle.

The Ministry approved the requirements for the organization of these institutions, including a list of equipment for their re-equipment and a list of specialties of employees.

"It is important to understand that the health centers will be designed for a healthy person, increasing the level of his knowledge, awareness and practical skills in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. As part of the development of health centers, the work of specialists will be aimed at developing the population's commitment to the treatment of diseases, compliance with doctor's recommendations to improve the quality of life, prolong life, preserve and restore working capacity and active longevity," said Tatyana Golikova, Minister of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation.

It is expected that in the centers it will be possible to undergo a preventive examination, assess the risk factors of various diseases and, based on the results of research, receive recommendations on a healthy lifestyle, as well as make an individual wellness program. In addition, the tasks of these institutions include the fight against bad habits – drinking and smoking.
