Prospects of nanobiotechnology

The III All-Russian School seminar "Nanobiotechnology: problems and prospects" was held at BelSU.

The key topics of discussion of young scientists, postgraduates and students were the issues of the development of medicine and pharmacy. The forum brought together over 130 innovative researchers from different regions of Russia, including specialists in the field of nanopharmaceuticals and nanomedicine from leading scientific schools.

– From Moscow to Tyumen – this is the geography of the school-seminar, – says Olga Lebedeva, Deputy Chairman of the organizing committee of the event, Dean of the Biology and Chemistry Faculty of the National Research University "BelSU". – We managed to attract a wide and authoritative circle of lecturers, the number of listeners also increased, they also came from all over the country. Someone got an in-depth, and someone got the first idea of a new rapidly developing interdisciplinary field of scientific research - nanobiotechnology. Biologists, physicists, chemists, doctors, pharmacists contribute to its development. The exchange of information between various professional groups is extremely useful for the formation of an integrated approach to the problems of nanobiotechnology. It is this task, first of all, that the organizers and participants of the school-seminar face.

A separate direction of the school-seminar "Nanopharmacology, nanomedicine, nanodiagnostics and nanoimplantology" was devoted to the issues of the future of Russian medicine and pharmacy.

Within the framework of the school-seminar, a competition for presentations of innovative projects was held. Four projects of medical and pharmaceutical subjects out of six laureates were recognized as the best in the competition.

– Most of the works submitted for the competition are focused on the treatment of oncological diseases, – Olga Lebedeva comments on the results, – which gives them a special practical value and unconditional social significance. Such studies are very promising.
