Skoltech + St. Petersburg State University = …

St. Petersburg University and Skoltech signed a cooperation agreement

IA SeverInfoOn June 20, within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Rector of St. Petersburg State University Nikolai Kropachev and Rector of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech)

Edward Francis Crowley signed an agreement on cooperation between universities for a period of five years.

Now the oldest university in Russia and one of the youngest (established in 2011 with the participation of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology) will develop and implement joint master's degree programs and postgraduate training programs for scientific and pedagogical personnel, as well as scientific and research projects. In addition, St. Petersburg State University and Skoltech will be able to create working groups and temporary creative teams, laboratories, analytical, consulting centers and institutes in various areas of activity.

The agreement also provides for the possibility of joint development of new technologies in such priority areas as energy sciences and technologies; nuclear sciences and technologies; space sciences and technologies; information sciences and technologies; biomedical sciences and technologies; nanotechnology and materials science; ecology and environmental management; management personnel and technologies, the press service of St. Petersburg State University reports.

St. Petersburg State University and Skoltech are already creating two joint laboratories on the basis of St. Petersburg State University: in the field of mathematics under the guidance of Stanislav Smirnov, Chief Researcher of St. Petersburg State University, Skoltech consultant, and in the field of biopharmacology under the guidance of Raul Gainetdinov, Professor of St. Petersburg State University and Professor of Skoltech.
