The first day of the IV International Innovation Forum

Innovative strategies for the development of cities and regions, training for the new economy of the country, as well as cluster policy will be the main topics of the IV International Innovation Forum that opened today in St. Petersburg, UNOVA reports with reference to ITAR-TASS.

The event brought together Russian and foreign participants in innovation activities from various fields – federal and regional authorities, investors, representatives of science, education, and development institutions.

Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midhat Shagiakhmetov, Head of the Government of Dublin John Tierney, Vice-President of the Skolkovo Foundation Oleg Alekseev, President of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Roman Trotsenko are expected to participate in the congress program of the forum.

In total, about 60 events will be held in this part of the forum, including plenary sessions on key issues, thematic round tables, conferences and discussion panels with the participation of experts. The business program will include presentations of the latest technological and intellectual developments, as well as a meeting of the youth section of the St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum.

A number of agreements are planned to be signed at the forum, including on the creation of an innovative cluster of manufacturers of space equipment, technologies and services, on cooperation between the government of St. Petersburg and General Motors, on cooperation between the city government and a Russian venture company. According to the organizers, the Russian premiere of the latest modification of the "E-mobile" will also take place at the congress site.

The exhibition space of the forum, which will last three days, will feature stands of a number of regions of Russia (Pskov and Chelyabinsk regions, the Republics of Karelia, Komi, Tatarstan, the city of St. Petersburg) and companies from foreign countries, in particular from Germany and Finland, various innovation clusters.
