The genome of an alcoholic and drug addict with forty years of experience

Geneticists are trying to figure out why Ozzy Osbourne is still aliveTCH.ua according to Sky News: Amazed Boffins Probe Ozzy's Genetic Code
Scientists have begun to examine the DNA of outrageous rock musician Ozzy Osbourne to find out why he is still alive after years of drug and alcohol abuse.

The three-month study, started by the American company Knome, will cost about 40 thousand dollars. Scientists hope that its results will provide information about how drugs are absorbed in the human body.

The former vocalist of the band Black Sabbath thus became one of the few people in the world who have a whole genome examined. Scientists plan to compile a complete "genetic map" of the musician.

61-year-old Ozzy calls himself a "medical miracle" and claims that he cannot understand why he "lasted so long." The singer admitted that he has not come out of a binge for more than 40 years, drinking 4 bottles of cognac a day.

By the way, earlier the British rock singer seriously injured his neck in a car accident when he fell from an ATV, and was also being treated in a psychiatric clinic. He is known for biting off the head of a bat during a Black Sabbath concert, and constantly quarreled with his wife (whom he tried to strangle). Despite this, they are still together and they have three adult children.
