The Ministry of Health warns: do not buy medicines online!

The purchase of potent medicines via the worldwide Internet is dangerous for health, British scientists warn.

Researchers from the University of Edinburgh studied 35 of the most well-known Internet sites that specialized in the sale of painkillers without prescriptions, which are sold only by prescription in pharmacies. Health officials have warned that buying such drugs over the Internet can be deadly. The results of the study were published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology.

Scientists using Google and Yahoo search engines have found about 100 medicines that can be bought on the Internet without any problems. However, half of these drugs should be sold only by prescription. Drugs of the opiate group, tramadol and other potent drugs can cause serious side effects, and may also be contraindicated for use with other drugs for certain diseases.

Experts believe that in the best case, the buyer will throw money away, and in the worst case, he may pay with his life. The problem requires the intervention of government agencies in resolving this issue, but today, buyers of medicines on the Internet need to think more about their purchases and the consequences they can cause, experts stressed.
