More than half a million rubles were transferred to scammers by an 84-year-old resident of Penza. The pensioner told the employees of the police department No. 2 about this when she realized that she had been deceived.

According to the pensioner, a man who introduced himself as an employee of a certain "laboratory of higher medicine" from St. Petersburg called her home phone. Then the stranger reported about the alleged imminent death of his grandmother and said that to delay the death, you can buy a "vaccine of eternal life" for 560 thousand rubles.

An elderly woman transferred this amount through a bank operator to the account of a cellular subscriber number. She explained to the guards that she knew about such methods of fraud from the media, as well as from police officers.

"A check is being carried out on the fact of the incident. Police officers are taking measures to identify persons involved in the commission of a crime," the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region reports.
