The girl was born in June, but the news about her decided to make public only now. According to the press release of the Third Baby Born After Uterus Transplant at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, the donor was an anonymous living woman unfamiliar with the recipient.

Specialists from Baylor University were among the first in the world to start researching transplantation as a way to cure infertility in women with a non-functioning or completely absent uterus.

To date, the project team has carried out a total of 20 such operations, which makes it the most experienced in the world.

The first child after a uterus transplant was born here about two years ago.

According to scientists, the birth of another child as a result of a uterus transplant confirms that this approach is really effective for the treatment of infertility. Nevertheless, this is a risky operation, the success of which became possible only thanks to the high professionalism of the doctors who conducted it.
