UNOVAOn February 15, the acceptance of applications for the Skolkovo Innovation Award competition announced two months earlier ended

The finish of the first stage of this joint project of Cisco and the Skolkovo Foundation was held in the rhythm of a crescendo: over the past five days, the organizers of the competition received 646 ideas, and more than a third of them – just a day before the deadline.

According to Christopher Thompson, curator of global incubation projects at Cisco, these figures are twice as high as the total number of participants and ideas in two Cisco I-PRIZE world competitions held in 2008 and 2010.

In addition, Thompson said that 310 ideas were withdrawn due to non-compliance with the requirements for participation in the competition, 14 people were suspended from participating in the competition for reasons of fraud, non-compliance with the requirements for participation or violation of the Terms and Conditions of the competition. 45% of the ideas submitted for the contest relate to information technology, 35% — energy saving, 20% — healthcare.
