European Academy Awards for Young Scientists

The CLUB OF RUSSIAN MEMBERS OF THE EUROPEAN ACADEMY invites young Russian scientists to take part in the 16th competition for the European Academy Awards.

The European Academy Awards were established to encourage and support the most talented young scientists in Russia. Persons under the age of 34 by December 31, 2009 can participate in the 16th competition (2009). The prizes are awarded for fundamental scientific research carried out in Russia and published in the form of books or articles in leading scientific journals.

In 2009, 23 prizes of $ 1,000 will be awarded in the following fields of knowledge: mathematics/mechanics, physics, chemistry, Earth sciences, biology, medicine, humanities. Together with the award, the laureate will receive an Honorary Diploma of the European Academy and a medal of the Club of Russian Members of the European Academy. The award fund was formed by the MAIK "Science/Interperiodica" and Rosbusinessbank.

THE PROCEDURE FOR AWARDING PRIZES

  1. The Club of Russian members of the European Academy announces in the newspaper "Search" the rules and terms of the competition.
  2. The initial evaluation of candidates is carried out by experts (scientists from Russia and foreign scientists) working in the same specific field as the applicant.
  3. The works and the results of their examination are reviewed by expert councils on sciences, headed by members of the Club.
  4. The decision on awarding the prizes is made by the general meeting of the Russian members of the European Academy.
  5. The awarding of the laureates is held in the Round Assembly Hall on the 31st floor of the Moscow State University (until the end of 2009).

APPLICATION RULESThe electronic version (in English) intended for reviewing the application by e-mail should be sent to shapoval@belozersky.msu.ru .

In the Subject column, put the Academia Europaea Prize. The text of the letter must contain the data of the title page in English, as an appendix - a doc file with the text of the application (paragraphs 1-6, without the title page, in one file) and a separate file with the title page in Russian.

The printed version (1 copy in Russian) must be identical to the English electronic version, but the documents must have the appropriate signatures and seals, the prints of articles or books are provided in full, in the original language. Any other documents that speak in favor of the applicant may also be presented in the printed version.

THE COLLECTION OF APPLICATIONS BY E-MAIL ENDS ON MARCH 1, 2009.

Printed versions of applications for the competition must be sent no later than March 1 by postmark to the address: 119992 Moscow, Vorobyovy Gory, Moscow State University, Laboratory Building A, NIIFKHB with the note "For the competition of the European Academy" for Irina Shapovalova. Please do not send applications in valuable parcels. In addition, they can be entered in room 618 of the Laboratory Building B of Moscow State University.
