The hour has struck: The Liar Academy of Pseudoscience (abbreviated LIAR), together with the Commission on Combating Science, announce the start of the first stage (semi-final) of the 2nd annual award "Honorary Academician LIED". This prestigious title is awarded only to persons who have made an outstanding contribution to Russian pseudoscience.
The Academy and the corresponding award were established in 2016 by the scientific and educational portal "Anthropogenesis.<url>" and the Evolution Foundation. The Academy of Lies is truly popular: academic candidates are chosen by readers of popular science resources through online voting held in the communities "Anthropogenesis.<url>" on Facebook and VKontakte. Everyone can nominate candidates. The subject matter does not matter: folk history, amateur linguistics, parapsychology, creationism, anti-GMOs, HIV dissidence, pyramidiotry or ufolozhestvo - everyone is welcome at our academy.
The incorruptible jury will select the 10 most popular candidates and publish their list on social networks on September 20, after which the second round of voting will begin. The top three will advance to the final, and the winner will be selected as part of a ceremony at the forum "Scientists against Myths – 5" on October 21 in Moscow. Who will get the main prize – "Sad reptiloid"? We'll find out in October! According to the insider information available to us, the event is planned to be attended by pingvinopitek.
Let us remind that last year mathematician Anatoly Fomenko and satirist Mikhail Zadornov reached the final of the prestigious award, and Irina Ermakova, the main activist of the Russian anti-GM movement, received the "Sad Reptiloid" and the diploma of honorary academician.
attention: According to the rules of the award, in order for new worthy persons to prove themselves, this year A. Fomenko, M. Zadornov and I. Ermakova do not participate in the qualifying round.
