Healthy Eating Online

The Skolkovo resident company "Center for Healthy Nutrition" announced the transition of the online service "Virtual Nutritionist" to the stage of commercialization. The development has been completed, and the company has started the selection of partners from the field of grocery retail, as well as among catering organizations, fitness centers, medical institutions, said Sk.ru Executive Director of the "Center for Healthy Nutrition" Sofia Aristova.

"Virtual nutritionist" is, in fact, a tool for making balanced diets that take into account the personal needs, diseases and food preferences of specific users. The service allows you to solve the problem of proper nutrition in a complex way – from planning meals to getting grocery lists and buying groceries with home delivery. The service includes an extensive catalog of ready–made diets - balanced, low-calorie, vegetarian, therapeutic and others.

The development of the "Virtual Nutritionist" began in 2012. The project team includes candidates and doctors of medical, biological and economic sciences, including practicing nutritionists. Specialists of the Research Institute of Nutrition of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences are actively involved in performing applied research, developing algorithms and compiling diets. In October 2014, the Virtual Nutritionist project became a member of the Skolkovo Foundation.

"The Center for Healthy Nutrition is a young company that has recently received the status of a resident of Skolkovo. The project she is developing is at the junction of two fields of knowledge: dietetics – in this part, a team of nutritionists from the Research Institute of Nutrition of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences is working on the project and IT – in terms of developing algorithms for structuring information. At the same time, as is known, breakthroughs are often made at the junction of regions. I really hope that the product created by the company will be in demand on the market," he said SK.ru Ivan Kireev, Director of the Cloud Technologies direction of the Information Technology cluster of the Skolkovo Foundation.

The developers believe that the most popular service can be for grocery retail companies. "By integrating the Virtual Nutritionist web application into their websites, retailers will help users make a balanced menu for every day. Consumers focused on proper, healthy nutrition are a huge target audience. It will be easier for the retailer to attract her and keep her in the stores of its own network using the Virtual Nutritionist service," Sofia Aristova said.

According to Sofia Aristova, interest in the service from network retailers operating in the e-commerce segment is already quite high, and they will get the maximum effect from the introduction – these are inexpensive, while effective marketing activities on the Internet, and user loyalty.

The "Virtual nutritionist" works in the SaaS format (software as a service – software as a service). The client part of the Virtual Nutritionist service is placed on the partner's website and integrated with its product range.

In order to "get involved" in the "Virtual Nutritionist" program, the retailer must place on its website a service interface that easily adapts to the corporate identity and marketing objectives of a particular client. After that, users who want to monitor their diet, enter their data, choose dishes, products, receive recommended grocery lists, and can immediately place an order. All user registration data: information about their orders, trading matrix, prices and other confidential information remain on the partner's side. At the same time, he pays only a subscription fee for active (registered) users.

All calculations are performed on remote servers, where data on the chemical composition of products, the layout of dishes for ingredients, the replenished catalog of rations and other directories and calculation algorithms necessary for the operation of the service are stored.

"In the future, several ways of developing the project are possible: the creation of a multi-client food ordering service, the development of a portal about proper nutrition and diets with the participation of specialists in these areas. It is also possible to create your own sales network focused on the sale of healthy and eco–friendly products," said Sofia Aristova.

Currently, the test version of the service is in the maximum "configuration" and is available for review to all interested users upon request.
