In 2011, the Pushchinsky Scientific Center (PNC RAS) turns 55 years old. In this regard, a number of events dedicated to this date will be held. All organizations that are part of the PNC RAS are preparing to celebrate this event.
The PNC RAS together with the Pushchinsky Museum of Ecology and Local Lore prepared the exhibition "Innovative Projects of the Pushchinsky Scientific Center", which will be located in the museum building from 08 to 19 February 2011.
Currently, an effective innovation infrastructure is being created on the basis of the PNC RAS for the implementation and implementation of advanced developments in the field of biotechnology and related fields.
The exhibition will feature the works of scientific collectives of the institutes of the PNC RAS, the latest achievements in the field of molecular and cellular biology, bioorganic chemistry, genetic and cellular engineering, biophysics, etc. The exhibition is designed to familiarize residents and guests of Pushchino with promising technologies and products being developed at the institutes of the Pushchino Scientific Center.
For example, the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences has developed "Express methods for the diagnosis and treatment of vascular lesions of the lower extremities of humans and the mammary gland in women." This work was carried out by a research team led by a corresponding member. RAN Ivanitsky Henrikh Romanovich. These express methods make it possible to diagnose varicose veins at an early stage, as well as breast cancer in women. Temporary wound coverings ("artificial leather") are being developed under the guidance of Professor Boris Karpovich Gavrilyuk, MD. The essence of such coatings is that they stimulate the growth of a person's own tissue, and after the tissue is restored, they are removed.
At the Institute of Cell Biophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, scientists are developing drugs based on recombinant antioxidant protein for the diagnosis and treatment of various human pathologies such as ischemia, myocardial infarction, various pulmonary pathologies, etc. A group of scientists led by a corresponding member. Igor Stepanovich Kulaev of the Institute of Biochemistry and Physiology of Microorganisms named after G.K. Scriabin has developed an antimicrobial enzyme preparation – lysoamidase for the treatment of superficial and deep purulent wounds, including gunshot wounds, mastitis, oral mucosa. In the conditions of modern environmental problems, the Institute of Fundamental Problems of Biology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Head of PhD Sevostyanov Sergey Mikhailovich) is developing a technology for processing toxic sewage sludge into environmentally safe compost. This technology is aimed at solving the most important problem of our time – the environmentally safe and cost-effective disposal of several types of constantly generated waste.
The Institute of Physico-Chemical and Biological Problems of Soil Science (PhD Kurochkina Galina Nikolaevna) is developing the production of new anticorrosive coatings. The advantage of the new technology is the ability to solve the environmental problem of disposal of non-degradable toxic waste from chemical industries.
In the Branch of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry named after Academicians M.M. Shemyakin and Yu.A. Ovchinnikov, under the leadership of Konstantin Alexandrovich Shestibratov, PhD, solve the problem of reducing forest areas. Scientists have developed an effective technology of plant propagation, which allows you to quickly get healthy planting material at any time of the year.
And this is only a small part of the work performed by our scientists, which will be presented at the exhibition. We are looking forward to the Pushchin residents, as well as guests of our city at the exhibition "Innovative projects of the Pushchin Scientific Center"!
